Shin Kyungsook is one of the most influential contemporary writers in South Korea, a laureate of numerous literary awards. In 2012, she became the first woman to receive the Man Asian Literary Prize (also known as the 'Asian Booker') for her novel 'Please Look After Mom'. Her work is known for its deep insight into the psychology of characters and masterful descriptions of human emotions.
