Until one day, the peaceful life of the townsfolk was interrupted by a truly horrific crime: the grumpy toad Otto Zumpf – the town's eccentric hermit – was murdered. The cunning journalist fox Vera Vixen has a nose for news and gossip. She manages to arrive at the crime scene before the police and discovers an important clue. Not trusting the capabilities of the two rather incompetent bear detectives, Vixen takes matters into her own paws. And then a second attack occurs… Is there really a serial killer prowling in the quiet and peaceful Shaded Hollow?
