Young writer, journalist, and television host Lilia Assen immediately became famous after releasing her novel "Panorama" in 2023, which excited the public and the press. The masterfully constructed detective plot unfolds in 2049. In France, the Openness Law is in effect: people live in glass houses to constantly monitor each other in the name of public safety. The police have nothing left to do—as crime is virtually defeated. However, in one of these vivarium houses, an entire family—husband, wife, and their eight-year-old son—mysteriously disappears. In the affluent neighborhood where they lived, perfect transparency reigns, yet former police officer Hélène Dubern, leading the investigation, distinctly feels invisible waves of fear and evil in the air. The novel earned thirty-year-old Lilia Assen the "Visionaries" book award, the François Mauriac prize awarded by the French Academy, and the Renodo high school students' prize.
