Without Time and Place

The story "Without Time and Place" transports the reader to the year 1982. Passengers on an ordinary Soviet train experience not quite ordinary stories along the way – amusing, dramatic, quirky, mysterious, and even mystical. Only in the final pages does the reader find out who is responsible for all the troubles and how these separate stories are connected. The book also includes a cycle of stories titled "A Man and His Dragon." These are ten tales about the inner "dragons": the passions and ideas that consume a person, the archetypes of his consciousness.
