The Children of Voinov. Communal Stoves

The novels by Zhanna Vishnevskaya "The Children of Voinov" and "Communal Stoves" are family sagas set in communal apartments on Voinova Street in Leningrad. These stories are infinitely touching, ironic, filled with love for the large and close-knit families that inhabited those apartments. Behind the old doors, birthdays, human and dog weddings were celebrated, residents quarreled, made up, shared gossip and recipes in the common kitchens.
