Having returned Prince Yelisey to the throne of Yarlov Grad and expelled the witch Cheslava from the city, Vladlen and Luka find new troubles — a mysterious plague attacks the capital: seemingly healthy people die in the streets and in their beds, and no one can understand what happened to them.
Meanwhile, Yarina inherits a witchcraft gift and a real devil from her grandmother — and, expelled from her village, finds a nearby village where only witches live.
