The Crow and the Fox. Fables

Ivan Andreevich Krylov is perhaps the most published Russian writer. His books were in high demand in the 19th century and are now an important part of the school curriculum. The secret to the author's success is simple – the... characters speak in a simple, lively language, and the issues explored in the fables are relevant to our times: good and evil, friendship and cunning, truth and falsehood, heroism and cowardice. Even young children are familiar with many lines from the fables that have become proverbs and winged expressions. The artist Yevgeny Rachyov managed to convey all the charm of the cheerful, somewhat sly, very Russian humor of Krylov's fables while preserving the meaning for which they were written.
