Ikigai Detective is a series of Japanese cozy mysteries filled with the philosophy of seeking harmony, life purpose, and the ability to find joy in small things.

Katsuragi is a young detective working in the Tokyo police. He is not the most perceptive and brilliant investigator, but he always strives to get to the truth.

He is assisted by Madoka, a law student, to whom he shares details about the cases he is investigating over a cup of tea in a café. Katsuragi is simply enchanted by the girl and her insightfulness.

Madoka was orphaned in childhood and lives with her grandmother Shizuka, who worked as a judge for many years. The girl shares the details of the crimes with her grandmother, and she solves even the most incredible cases without leaving the house.

No criminal can hide from the perceptive old lady, but Shizuka herself keeps a very big secret…
