Mission from Above

«Four people in their past lives made a vow to meet in another life. A terrible vow, a bloody one. Three have already met. They are waiting for you». These words were spoken to me by a passing guru at... a Buddhist center I stumbled into out of boredom. I must admit, the guru's words made an impression, no matter how much I tried to treat them humorously. Now I often caught myself thinking that I was waiting for something. For good changes in my fate? For some event?.. But time passed, and the strange story now evoked annoyance and disappointment: deep down, I was counting on an adventure, even when I called the guru a fraud in frustration.
