Kristi's birthday was rainy, and the girl was upset: in such weather, no one would come to the long-awaited picnic! The author of the book, the famous American children's writer Harriet Mann-Miller (1831–1918), wrote under the pseudonym Olive Thorn. Her books are still very popular in the writer's homeland. This work is published in Russian for the first time.
