The Beast from the Dark

Under the bed of the Boy lives a Beast. The Boy says that in the daylight the Beast shrinks, but when his mother turns off the light at night, it swells up.
One day, the Boy starts to talk to it... out of fear. And gradually, the Beast becomes his best friend, as well as a protector, confessor, and guide. Then the Boy's father dies in the war of Judgment Day. "Beast," says the Boy, "go to Dad and tell him that I love him and miss him." The Beast becomes the link between the living and the dead: it delivers news back and forth, bringing the Boy advice and comfort. It also watches over the Boy's little sister in the womb, supports the mother in labor, and even rocks the Baby at night. And the Beast always leads the Boy to where he is destined to be, so he becomes stronger and happier every day.
