Ace, Queen, Death

Tess Fox's first case as a newly minted inspector of the Brighton criminal police threatens to end in complete failure, as it is impossible to understand how a man with a slit throat could have fallen from the balcony of an empty apartment locked from the inside. Worse still, this man is an old acquaintance of Tess, whom she has been trying to forget. But there is a bigger problem: the deceased was connected to Sarah, her half-sister, a talented con artist and fraudster. Sarah's cunning mind and criminal past put her under suspicion, and Tess under fire, for the police inspector also has a skeleton in her closet… For the first time in Russian!
