Journalist Veronika Stakhova was living peacefully in Prague with her little son Maxim. At some point, she realized that she missed her job very much and asked an old friend, Igor Yablokov, to find her a position at some publication in Moscow. A job was found instantly, and Veronika arrived in the capital, full of joyful expectations, leaving Maksim in the care of friends. She fit in perfectly with the team and the creative process, but then Alexei Balzanov, the owner of the company that owned the online publication, assigned her to investigate the death of his partner Sergey Lutskiy’s wife Natalia. From that moment on, Stakhova's peaceful life ended: someone was constantly following her, intruders broke into her apartment, and her beloved man was attacked... Veronika began to often ponder: was it worth coming back to work at all?
