The Abyss of Sorrow

The writer Vadim Kamenev had long abandoned his work; he did not live but merely dragged on a meaningless existence. He endlessly punished himself for not keeping an eye on his five-year-old daughter at the playground—he had dozed off, and... the girl disappeared without a trace. A year had passed since then, but Vadim did not lose hope and continued his search. One day he thought he saw his daughter in an internet video! A blogger was reporting from the godforsaken place called Verkhnie Vyazy. Once, salt was extracted there, but then huge sinkholes formed, and the town began to slowly sink into the ground. Vadim tried to contact the blogger but learned from his sister that the guy was missing too. Then Kamenev decided to go to Verkhnie Vyazy himself, unaware of what awaited him there…
