The young talented photographer Anna Besedina, while walking her dog, discovers a body in the bushes. The arriving investigative team establishes that the corpse is drained of blood. Soon, two more bodies are found in the city... In the morning,... the janitor of the art gallery accidentally notices bricks that have fallen out of the wall, behind which, as it turns out, has been hidden a painting stolen many years ago by a famous artist... The investigation is at a standstill; at first glance, the bodies and the painting are not connected. Mikhail Zimin does not want to believe that a maniac has appeared in the city.
