Topics in English for Excellent Grades

This book is aimed at preparing applicants and high school students for state exams in English. It will also be useful for students preparing to enter international schools, as well as participants in English language olympiads and competitions. The purpose of this publication is to help students in grades 9-11 develop monologic speaking skills for successful completion of final English exams in the OGE and EGE formats. The collection includes the most relevant topics specified in the codifier, which will help to form the necessary communication skills in a foreign language and enrich the students' vocabulary. The book consists of several sections: "Health and Illnesses", "Leisure and Hobbies", "Outstanding People from Different Countries", "Holidays", "Mass Media" and others. After each covered topic, a translation of the text and a thematic dictionary will be provided. The appendix includes a list of popular aphorisms and proverbs in English that will help to add emotional color to the speech.
