Tessa Miyata is not a hero

Tessa Miyata is a walking magnet for troubles. Even as a child, the girl realized that she possessed an incredible gift that became a curse for her. Tessa sees ghosts. Because of this ability, she has no friends at all,... and at school, she was even nicknamed a freak. To support her granddaughter, her grandmother sends Tessa and her two older sisters to relatives in Japan for the summer. But the joy of the trip quickly fades, as Tessa is forced to spend all her time with the neighbor boy, Jin, who can’t stand her. And the first trip to Tokyo turns into a disaster: due to Tessa's oversight, an ancient family relic is shattered, and the vengeful spirit of the samurai Taira Masakado is unleashed. Now Tessa and Jin, along with their new acquaintance, the kitsune Kitsu, must stop the samurai spirit before it destroys Tokyo.
