The Ferryman

Prospera Island is one of three islands in a small archipelago, lost in the ocean and isolated from the rest of the world and humanity — or what is left of it.
The population of the island lives in a privileged position. They are looked after by auxiliary staff, living in cramped conditions on a neighboring island, and when the residents of Prospera grow old, they are sent to the third island — the Nursery, where their bodies are reborn, memories of their past lives are erased, and rejuvenated old people return to Prospera.
Proctor Bennett is a ferryman. His job is to transport people to the Nursery. He never doubted the usefulness of his work until one day, while transporting his own father, he heard him say: "This world is not the world." What do these words mean? Why do they echo in his mind in strange dreams about the sea and stars? Why does he have a persistent feeling that someone is trying to convey something very, very important to him? Something that could change not only his fate but the fate of all who live.
