Reading in Korean

The proposed manual for developing reading skills in the Korean language is a collection of original modern Korean texts of intermediate complexity. The texts are selected to inform the reader about how Koreans see themselves and their culture, addressing aspects... of life that everyone encounters: love, family, studies, interactions with representatives of other cultures, and more. The texts include core vocabulary and grammar at an intermediate level according to the system accepted in the Republic of Korea. The manual is equipped with extensive lexical and grammatical commentary on 50 constructions. The cultural commentary contributes to the formation of intercultural competence. The manual fundamentally differs from similar publications in the way it introduces lexical units: along with the main lexeme, it provides similar and antonymous words, as well as related words and comments that clarify the peculiarities of each word's usage. 

The manual is aimed at students of Oriental studies specialties, as well as anyone studying the Korean language, including self-learners, who already possess a basic level of proficiency.
