For twelve years, Elia has lived with a chestnut in her right eye socket. She has long gotten used to it, even though it falls out at the most inconvenient moments. One day, the girl finds herself in the castle of her grandmother Matilda, which stands on top of a mountain. Nearby is only the ocean and an old cemetery.
