One-Story America

Illya Ilf and Evgeny Petrov were famous Soviet feuilletonists and satirical writers of the first half of the 20th century. In collaboration, they created the well-known novels "The Twelve Chairs" and "The Golden Calf," the novella "One-Story America," as well as several cycles of short stories. The novella "One-Story America" is the result of the authors' trip to the United States in the mid-1930s, embodying their search for the "real America" and their personal discovery of America. The book is preceded by an introductory article by Alexandra Ilyinichna Ilf, the daughter of one of the authors.
