The Children of the Blue Flamingo

The hero of the story, fifth grader Zhenya Ushakov, unexpectedly finds himself on the mysterious invisible island of Dvid, ruled by a huge cruel monster – the Lizard. The island is in perfect order, and its inhabitants live in constant... fear, strive for nothing, dream of nothing and fear any changes.
   The legends of Dvid say that one day a young Knight will come from another world, who will kill the Lizard and free the island's inhabitants from its tyranny.
   The desire and necessity to help his new islander friends push Zhenya to decide to take on the role of this Knight – to begin the fight for good and justice, to perform brave deeds, and to give the islanders hope for a happy future.  
   The work is intended for children of middle school age.
   The text of the story is presented unabridged, printed on good paper in large font and contains colored illustrations by I. Minkina.
