Naive and Sentimental Writer

Orhan Pamuk is a renowned Turkish writer, Nobel Prize laureate in literature of 2006, author of books such as "My Name is Red", "Snow", "Istanbul: Memories and the City", "The Museum of Innocence", and many others.
In the book "Naive and Sentimental Writer", created based on Harvard lectures, Pamuk invites the reader into the world of his favorite novels to try to unravel the mystery of the enduring charm of true literature. Pamuk proposes to divide writers (and readers) into two categories: "naive" (able to immerse themselves in the text without regard for the craft of writing and the personality of the author) and "sentimental" (thoughtful, reflective, skeptical). "We await the writer and his characters, the concepts of fiction and plot, questions about what time is and what it means to 'see'; we will visit museums and, perhaps, as happens in real novels, find ourselves in amazing places we never even dreamed existed".
