Parisian Spleen. Poems in Prose

The collection of poems in prose "Parisian Spleen" by Charles Baudelaire was first published posthumously in 1869. The great poet continues the genre tradition already represented in French literature in the works of E. Parny and A. Bertrand.

This is a series of small texts reflecting Baudelaire's philosophical outlook: "I, insatiably craving that which lies beyond the Self," an attempt to reveal the true (dark) essence of man through his pursuit of pleasure.

The works are presented in the translations of L. Gurevich and S. Parnok.
