Diary of a Writer 1873-1876

Dostoevsky's journalism is even more interesting than his prose. Everything that the writer could not express on the pages of his famous novels found reflection in his "Diary of a Writer." These dialogical essays and articles, in which alongside the judgments of Dostoevsky the artist one can hear the sarcastic voice of Dostoevsky the journalist, can be called the "encyclopedia of Russian life." In the "Diary of a Writer," which has no analogues in Russian and foreign journalism, Dostoevsky communicates directly with readers and seemingly invites them to join in the discussion of the deep themes that permeate all his work.
