The First Victim

On a warm summer evening, Kanna Hiziryama - an attractive student dreaming of a career as a TV presenter - suddenly stands up and leaves an important interview for her at a major TV channel. She goes to a store, buys a knife, and… kills her father, the famous artist Naoto Hiziryama. She plunges the knife into his heart in the women's restroom of the art college where he worked. A few hours later, the girl, wearing bloody clothes, is arrested on the riverbank. When questioned by the police about why she did it, Kanna calmly replies: "You figure out what my motive was."
Yuki Makabe is a clinical psychologist. The publishing house "Shimbunka" commissioned her to write a book about this high-profile case. Now Yuki has to conduct several sessions with Kanna. But during their first meeting, she sees that something is clearly wrong with the girl. Kanna calls herself a liar and asks to be cured. And the more Yuki delves into Kanna's personal life, the more keenly she realizes: this case will be the most challenging of her career.
