House of Roots and Ruins

Gothic fantasy about cursed love and ghosts of the past that haunt us until the end of our days.

Seventeen-year-old Verity dreams of a bright life beyond the Salty Islands. But she is forced to spend her days in the family mansion of Hymer with her older sister Camilla.

For years, Camilla has been hiding a terrible secret: Verity sees ghosts but thinks they are part of childhood nightmares. Upon learning the truth, a stunned Verity flees Hymer at night and ends up at the estate of the Duchess Bloema, the wife of a famous botanist.

Verity is enchanted by the inhabitants of the luxurious estate, especially the charming and incredibly handsome son of the duchess. Alexander Laurent is the perfect model for the portraits that Verity creates.

The love between them blossoms like a bud of an incredible exotic plant that, despite its sweet aroma, is deadly dangerous...
