One of the French allies, the treacherous and vengeful Huron Magua, kidnaps the two daughters of English Colonel Munro — the brave Cora and the gentle young Alice. Rescuing the girls are the renowned English Major Hayward Duncan and the brave hunter Hawkeye, along with their loyal friends Chingachgook and his son Uncas. To free the captives, the heroes must embark on a difficult and long journey: to find the true trail, so cleverly hidden by the cruel Hurons; to pass under the crossfire of two armies; and to display all their courage, bravery, and resourcefulness.
