Adolfo Bioy Casares (1914–1999) was a brilliant Argentine writer, a classic of Latin American prose, one of the bright representatives of the so-called great Argentine trio, which also included Jorge Luis Borges, with whom Bioy Casares shared a long-standing friendship... and joint literary projects, and Julio Cortázar. The most famous novel by Bioy Casares, "The Invention of Morel," which spawned numerous imitations, including in cinema, is considered an exceptional phenomenon in literature. Borges called it perfect, and Marquez, Cortázar, and Stanislaw Lem acknowledged that it influenced their work.The collection includes three works by Bioy Casares – "The Invention of Morel," "A Dream about Heroes," and "The Escape Plan," each of which can serve as an example of literary mastery.
