"Ghosts" is one of the most famous yet dark and scandalous plays of Ibsen, as in it the author condemned the vices of the society of his time. The productions of the play were accompanied by heated discussions, and some booksellers even tried to return the book to the publishers. The edition also includes "Pillars of Society," which made Ibsen famous beyond Norway, and "The Master Builder Solness" — considered by critics to be the author's most personal work.
