Guiana Robins

"Guiana Robins" is one of the most famous and exciting works by the French writer Louis Boussenard (1847–1910). The main character of this thrilling story is a fugitive prisoner from the infamous prison of Saint-Laurent. Escaping from the cruel grips of "justice," Robin finds himself in the harsh, uncharted lands of French Guiana. Relentless hunters for runaway convicts are on his trail, and around him are impenetrable jungles inhabited by mysterious Indian tribes... In addition to amazing adventures, the novel is rich in descriptions of the flora, fauna, and exotic customs of the tribes of French Guiana, which the author visited shortly before starting work on the manuscript. The novel is published in a new, complete translation, accompanied by extensive commentary and an article about the writer's journey to South America. The text is illustrated with classic illustrations by Jules Férat and Horace Castelli, as well as engravings from the books of explorers of Guiana.
