The Austrian writer Leopold von Sacher-Masoch created plays, feuilletons, and stories on historical topics. The collection includes the most popular work - “Venus in Furs” (1870), written after the writer’s difficult break with his lover, Fanny von Pistor; the stories “Moonlit Night”, “Plato’s Love”, as well as stories from the “Demonic Women” series.
...In the garden on a moonlit night, Severin meets Venus - her name is Vanda von Dunaeva. She gives the stone statue of the goddess to wear her fur cloak and invites Severin to become her slave.
