Rules of Politeness. First Lessons of Etiquette

Every parent wants their child to be well-mannered and polite. But what is politeness? What can and cannot be done for others to consider you a true lady or a true gentleman? It's not just about not putting your feet... on the table or not greeting neighbors loudly in a crowded train carriage, straining to shake a hand. To avoid losing face with relatives by wearing a very bright outfit but not having your hair done; not missing the mark by giving your friend a birthday gift that only you like; not disturbing the audience with a loud phone call about someone; not spoiling the festive evening by reaching for a desired treat from the other end of the table… To avoid blushing or paling, and to always know how to act, you need to read, memorize, and apply the rules of behavior in practice, so to speak, know the lessons of etiquette by heart!
