Fiesta (And the Sun Rises)

The first novel by Ernest Hemingway "Fiesta" ("And the Sun Rises"), which brought the author wide fame (in 1983 the newspaper "New York Times" reported that the novel had been continuously in print since its publication and is one of the most translated American novels), is based on real events. The characters of the novel (belonging to the so-called "lost generation"), who returned from World War I, seek to escape from painful memories and forget themselves in the light Parisian life. They experience a constant thirst for new experiences and a hunger for heartfelt human communication. They can only feel renewed, fully alive in those rare moments granted to them by selfless love and friendship.
