The Love Duel

England, 14th century. Cecilia, Countess of Lothford, harbored a hatred for the French, blaming them for her father's death, and thus disapproved of the romance between Princess Isabella, the king's beloved daughter, and a hostage of the English crown. Trying... to prevent rumors from spreading at court, she forms an alliance with another French hostage, Marc de Marsel, a noble chevalier who has long understood that for many knights, honor is little more than an empty word. Cecilia and Marc attempt to distance the princess from the French duke, but ironically, they themselves grow close. Eventually, the moment comes for each of the main characters in this story to choose whether to act out of honor or to follow their hearts.
