Burnett herself, the creator of the famous sentimental tale "Little Lord Fauntleroy," loved to repeat that she had two homelands - England and the United States of America. Therefore, the heroes of her works often became free and liberated Americans who find themselves on the British Isles and turn the stiff English traditions upside down. But in doing so, they inevitably find their path to happiness there...
