Jane Eyre

The novel "Jane Eyre" was published in 1847 and became the main book of British writer Charlotte Brontë, her calling card. Someone wittily noted: even those who have not bothered to read the novel know of its heroine - an unremarkable governess who found her happiness after many sorrows. Since the publication of the novel, experts have been trying to explain and reconcile its obvious imperfections with the captivating interest in it. They note that Charlotte Brontë was the first to make an ugly girl the heroine. They emphasize that Jane Eyre is the first heroine who tells her own story. They point out the universal layout of a women's novel: the settings - whether a haunted castle, Rublyovka, or Hollywood. Virginia Woolf once remarked: "Charlotte used all her eloquence, passion, and richness of style to express simple things: 'I love', 'I hate', 'I suffer'." And what more does a female reader need? After all, every Jane Eyre is waiting for her Mr. Rochester and hopes to someday say: "Reader, I married him".
