City of the Sun. Volume 1. Eyes of Death. Step of God

Maxim Shustov, a 19-year-old journalism student, hopes to uncover the mystery of the painting 'The Mansion on Prechistenka,' which he inherited from his long-missing father - one of the founders of the antique shop 'Isida.' Maxim wants to write a school report, but ends up getting tangled in a dangerous detective story.

He soon involves his friends: the quiet classmate Dima, the energetic and self-confident Anya, and also a new acquaintance Kristina, whose family suffered because of the painting's secrets.

The heroes quickly realize that their investigation will take them very far.

So far that they will find themselves in the slums of India, the forests of Sri Lanka, the mountains of Little Tibet, and beyond.
