Reckoning

Olivier Norek is a former humanitarian volunteer in French Guiana and the countries of former Yugoslavia, then a police officer with many years of experience, possessing unique insights, a sober view of reality, and remarkable sensitivity to people and the world. Moreover, he is a star of thrillers and noir, compared to Jo Nesbø and Jean-Christophe Grangé, and the holder of several prestigious literary awards, including the Grand Prix des Lectrices de ELLE, Prix Maisons de la Presse, Prix Le Point du Polar Européen, Étoile du Parisien for best thriller, and others. In "Reckoning," former special forces operative Virgil Solal, a grieving father who lost his only child, declares war on this world, which kills children for profit — indiscriminately killing everyone. To make the world better, one generally needs little — just to instill in the leadership and shareholders of major corporations that they cannot thoughtlessly consume the planet's resources for excessive profits. In his educational work, Solal is ready to go all the way — he does not hide and understands what awaits him, but believes that he cannot do otherwise. He acts cold-bloodedly, his methods are quite untraditional, the case, alas, does not go without casualties — and still the world empathizes with him and gradually awakens along with him. Meanwhile, the police are searching for Solal — and those he has kidnapped.
