Upanishads. The Practice of Understanding True Reality

A bird does not need to be taught how to fly. To one who is already high, there is no need to rise further. But for one who longs to soar high, one must first learn to bow low, low... to the feet of the teacher, to the holy feet of one who is greater and purer and therefore capable of cleansing and uplifting. To eradicate at its root the arrogance towards those who are "weaker", "less fortunate", "poorer". We are all in the same boat, and tomorrow we may change places. There are no unworthy of love and compassion. One bright sun shines for everyone and in everyone. "Upanishad" means to bow low and sit. To sit before the teacher and freeze, opening ears and heart, eagerly heeding the words of wisdom, choking on the nectar of immortal knowledge about oneself, trembling in delight from new discoveries. Living wisdom can only be known through a mind liberated from all traces of attachment and hatred, egoism and possessiveness. When the lake of the heart is cleansed of the viscous layer of silt, the "I" will shine in all its pristine glory.
