A deadly plague has engulfed a mysterious town: the merciless Plague spreads like mold. It seems to possess its own intelligence, bypassing even the most reliable means of protection.
The sad fate of the locals is evidently predetermined... A faint ray... of hope appears only when a trio of brave outsiders arrives in the city, who claim to be the only ones that know the way to defeat the Sand Plague. Scientist-bachelor Daniil, descendant of the healer Haruspik, and the blessed Pretender may save the city, but their paths to salvation, unfortunately, are incompatible.
What compromises will they be able to make for the sake of a common good?
The plot of the board game "Pestilence (Utopia)" is based on the eponymous computer game. A feature of the board version is that one of the players will take on the role of the villainess Plague, aiming to outpace the healers and complete her path of extermination of the town's population. The other players will become the saviors, and they will have to find an effective way to combine their talents to stop the spread of the infection and save all living beings from its invasion.
Board "Pestilence" is sure to appeal to both those who are unfamiliar with the original and players who have worn out the computer version and are searching for a new unconventional reincarnation of the familiar story.
