The "Creatures" book series is about pirates, first love, adventures, and terrifying monsters. The main character — a young storyteller So Sosen — is pathologically unlucky: he has no money, and no one finds his performances amusing. Despite this, he... remains a kind person, and one day this is noticed by the beautiful pirate leader Korenun, who gifts the young man a golden necklace. However, So Sosen is unlucky once again and is deceived by the legendary pirate and conman nicknamed Chholbulga. The young man intends to retrieve the precious gift and become famous, but now, due to Chholbulga's lies, he goes from being a simple storyteller to the most dangerous pirate of the Eastern Sea, hunting a fearsome giant Chanin... The author of the series is Kwak Jae-sik, a Doctor of Technical Sciences, who has always been passionate about collecting information on mythical monsters of Korea. The book also contains colorful illustrations by Korean artist Ahn Byeong-hyeon and a small bestiary. For middle school age.
