The Boomerang Does Not Return

The book of the classic of the Soviet spy novel Viktor Mikhailov (1898—1973) includes the stories "The Boomerang Does Not Return" (1956) and "Guardians of the Cold Sea" (1962). In the first work, the struggle between Soviet Chekists and foreign... spies unfolds around the secrets of an ultra-powerful anti-aircraft shell. The enemy uses not only classic spy techniques but also tries to play on the feelings and emotions of Soviet people. The events of the second story take place in Soviet Lapland. West German intelligence opens a hunt for an archive of the Abwehr hidden during the war, but they are opposed by brave border guards and simple residents of a coastal village. The clash of wills and characters occurs against the backdrop of the harsh northern nature.
