The most famous novel by English writer Jane Austen, sold in more than 20 million copies. Austen began working on the novel, which was called «First Impressions», when she was barely 21 years old. For fourteen years after that, the book was not in demand by publishers, who believed in her literary talent only after the success of «Sense and Sensibility».

Since then, the novel has had dozens of adaptations, and the plot about the proud wealthy heir (in modern terms, Mr. Darcy's fortune would yield an annual income of 18 million dollars) and the clever charming girl has inspired many writers.
