Look, Listen — Here I Am

Seventeen-year-old Audrey lives a quiet life, but suddenly everything changes. Is it schizophrenia? Or are the visions and nightmares a result of childhood trauma? Or is it something else? Audrey doesn't understand what is happening to her, but she is... sure of one thing: her boyfriend must not find out because she has to remain perfect for him. Audrey's father first sends her to a psychologist, but then decides to put her in a psychiatric hospital, while her religious stepmother insists on an exorcism. The girl runs away to her grandparents, who live in the Spanish Basque Country. Gradually, Audrey discovers that the visions are fragments from the life of Maite, her peer who once fell into the hands of the inquisitors. The closer Audrey gets to the place where Maite's story took place, the less she can control her own life…

The second novel by contemporary Dutch writer Martine Glazer, released in Russian translation, "Look, Listen — Here I Am" is a psychological drama for "young adults," in which two completely different worlds meet.
