12 Secrets

Roberta Gold cannot be called a novice writer, but previously he always had a co-author, so “12 Secrets” is his debut. A “hermetic detective” is always engaging, but here the author expands the enclosed space where crimes and their investigations take place to the size of a small town. The residents of the fictional Hadley, located near London, know each other well, and even twenty years after the brutal murder of two teenagers, this crime remains fresh in the memory of the townspeople. Ben Harper, an investigative journalist and brother of one of the victims, attempts to unravel the motives behind the tragedy on his own, and he uncovers the secrets of his neighbors and friends. Some of these secrets are so eerie that one cannot help but agree with the words of one of the book's characters: “A look into the past promises nothing good.”
