Mighty giants, forest and household spirits — you never know what to expect from them — gifts or troubles. But people have adapted, learned not only to appease their formidable neighbors but also to outsmart them thanks to ingenuity and bravery. Many folk tales tell about how a person, so weak compared to the treacherous elements, was able to negotiate even with those who govern Heaven and Earth!
