Aesop's Fables in Translations by L. N. Tolstoy

The book includes Aesop's fables – the legendary ancient Greek slave – in translations by Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy. Aesop became famous for composing short stories about animals that exposed human vices. He did this so masterfully that people easily recognized... the prototype of the hero.
Aesop's fables have traveled the world and have been translated into various languages, and lines from them have become proverbial. L.N. Tolstoy made his translation of Aesop's stories – as close to the original as possible but understandable to the village children he taught. The fables remain relevant today, as Aesop raised "eternal" themes in them. And Tolstoy's translation makes our edition unique.
