Shilling for Candles

A woman's body has been found on the beach. Soon, the news appears in all the newspapers: world-famous actress Christina Clay has drowned. But was it an accident? Knowing the victim's surroundings, one can confidently say that many people might have wished for her death: an unfaithful husband, a greedy brother, a supposed lover. Not to mention that in the last days of her life, she spent time with a young stranger to whom she left a large inheritance. To solve such a complicated case, all the skill of Inspector Alan Grant, summoned from Scotland Yard, will be required.
