Too Many Lovers

A certain Vyacheslav Dvubratov, who gives the impression of a provincial gangster, approached me, private detective Pavel Sinichkin. He asked me to find his missing mistress Alena and immediately offered an extremely generous advance. Alena worked as a manicurist, lived with her unsuccessful husband in a one-room apartment, and they had no children – there seemed to be nothing to latch onto! To begin with, I went to talk to Alena's husband, but found him dead. One cannot say otherwise, it's a good start! I decided to refuse this dubious case, went to the hotel to return the advance to Dvubratov, but found him dead in his own room too... What was the modest manicurist hiding, if her disappearance led to such strange and terrifying events?
